Govt awarded Contracts worth Rs 1 lakh cr for national highways upgrades

The government has awarded contracts worth over Rs 1.09 lakh crore for two- and four-laning of national highways in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Jharkhand since 2014-15, as per reports. The contracts are for 297 projects amounting to Rs 1,09,043 crore, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Mansukh Lal Mandaviya informed recently. He added that altogether, the projects would spread across a total length of 13,433 km of national highways in the six states.
